Friends of Freetown is a UK grant giving charity working to benefit the people of Sierra Leone.

Our funds are used to:

• Reduce poverty
• Relieve sickness
• Advance education

Why support projects in Sierra Leone?

• It has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the world and up to one in ten of all children die before their fifth birthday..
• The average life expectancy at birth is only 56 years.
• 36% of the country’s population live on less than £1.50 per day, putting medical fees out of reach for many people.

Sierra Leone is a land of contrasts. It is vibrant and beautiful but every day is a struggle for many. Friends of Freetown aims to support the efforts of those working for the benefit of its people.
