Friends of Freetown

Mercy Children’s Home was founded in 2004, operating from a single, rented room. Since then it has grown considerably and is now a safe and happy home to over 30 children and young people of different tribes, cultures and tongues. The children's home now has its own grounds which include a small farm and bakery. All of the children attend local schools before going on to further or higher education or training courses.

Friends of Freetown is immensely proud to support the outstanding work of Mercy Children’s Home. We currently sponsor 14 children at a rate of £30 per child per month. We also provide funds to help with specific needs. We are currently fundraising to help with the university fees of some of the older orphans.
